Location
Villas Río Mar is situated 21 miles (35 km) from the town of San Isidro del General on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, a short walk from Dominical Village and the unspoiled beach. It's a three hour drive on a good paved road from San José, through an incredible landscape, containing several microclimates and varied flora.
Accommodations
The Standard Bungalows (sleep up to 2 people) have a private terrace like living-room and are equipped with private bath with hot water, refrigerator, fans, telephone (room service and internet access available) and of course.. a hammock. Guests can choose for 2 individual or 1 king-size bed.
The Junior Suites (sleeps up to 4 people / non-smoking inside) are equipped with air-conditioning and direct tv, a private terrace, private bathroom with hot water, refrigerator, fans, telephone (room service and internet access available).
The new Junior Suites Superior have the same characteristics than the Junior Suites plus bathtub and jaccuzzi.
Hotel Villas Rio Mar is located appr. 800 mtrs. from the beach.

Our unique and beautiful "palenque" restaurant serves international and local specialties that will surprise even the most discriminating gourmets. At our cozy bar, you will find a variety of delicious tropical cocktails.
Activities
Villas Rio Mar is the perfect spot for an active vacation. You can rent horses, mountainbikes, kayaks, river tubes and snorkel and fishing equipment. From behind the resort hiking trails lead into the jungle up the mountains, offering you spectacular views of the rugged coastline.
Recreation
The extensive grounds of the resort are a paradise for birdwatchers and nature lovers alike. Don't be surprised to find a toucan perched on your private terrace early in the morning.
Especially for those working on their suntan we have a large swimming pool with a Jacuzzi and swim-up bar to cool them down.
For those working on their shape we have a tennis court, massage service and yoga classes.
If you are into sports, Villa Rio Mar is the place to be! Though still a friendly small village, Dominical is a world famous hotspot for surfing.
Last, there is the open air Conference Center hidden in the jungle, fitting up to eighty and ideal for nature and health oriented meetings and seminars.

The area has an average temperature of 83F (28C) and is green year round. There is a dry season from November thru April. During the rest of the year, the mornings are usually sunny but it may rain in the afternoon. This is the best time of year for nature lovers.
