Laguna Lodge has been designed to allow you to enjoy all the best of Tortuguero National Park. Located on a fringe of land, its 14 acres of gardens have the Caribbean on one side and lagoons and canals on the other.
We want you to enjoy the peaceful environment of our lodge. You will have a bilingual guide with all the basic elements for a very comfortable stay, who will take you with no schedule limits on your tours. Thus, you will see and learn more about the Tortuguero National Park marvels, about the town and about the nesting beach, as well as the Tortuguero Hill, from where you can see the park as a whole.

 

 

Our rooms are furnished with all the basic elements for a very comfortable stay. We have 52 spacious rooms, equipped with private bathrooms, hot water and fans. Divided in blocks of 4 rooms each with hallways. Rooms for handicaps available.

 

 

Our rustic family style restaurant and the excellence flavor of it's food has been very highly praised and accepted by our guests. The restaurant is ample and is one of the most prestigious in the region. Try our fixed rate all-you-can-eat dinner!!

 

 

In addition we offer a large bar over the lagoon, huts with hammocks. And The Lodge also has access to the various, smaller affluent within the national park, where besides observing the flora and fauna, you can experience the feeling of being in a rainforest among 140 - feet - high trees that reveal all their magnificence along the canals.

 

 

Laguna Lodge offers a 400 meter swimming pool, with hydro massage waterfall. Next to this is the swimming pool bar, which is decorated with exotic hardwoods.

 

 

We have a fleet of nine boats, in order to provide safe transfers and to enjoy the tours to adjacent areas and within the Tortuguero National Park which is one of Costa Rica's most important tourist attractions. In this setting one can feel the mystical power of the primary rainforest, while navigating along the causeways, within a jungle with vegetation that towers over more than 200 feet in height, populated with monkeys, crocodiles, toucans...

 

This small and cozy lodge, especially designed for the complete enjoyment of the natural marvels of the Tortuguero National Park, is located on a narrow strip of land between the Caribbean sea and the Tortuguero Lagoon. It offers direct access to the beach known as the most important nesting site for the green sea turtle throughout the entire Western Hemisphere (July through October). Other species of sea turtles can also be seen.

LAGUNA LODGE 2 DAYS / 1 NIGHTS

TOUR DESCRIPTION

We invite you to one of the most exotic regions in the world. The Tortuguero National Park, extremely rich in flora and fauna including orchids, birds, monkeys, crocodiles and toucans, is made up of a unique system of natural and man-made canals that server as waterways for transportation and exploration.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1: We begin our trip early in the morning between 6:00 am to 7:00 am (depending of the hotel you are staying at) from San Jose . You will be traveling with a bilingual naturalist guide on an air conditioned bus. Drive through Braulio Carrillo National Park , where you have the opportunity to see beautiful views and abundant vegetation. On the way we will stop for breakfast at Selva Tropical Restaurant where you can enjoy a butterfly garden with a variety of tropical flowers. After breakfast we will continue our trip to Caño Blanco deck driving by banana plantations.

At Caño Blanco, you will board the covered boat to the lodge, passing the Tortuguero canals arriving between 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. At the lodge our staff will be waiting for you with a refreshing cocktail, your rooms will be assigned and the guide will explain the afternoon activities after lunch -the visit to the Turtle Museum of the C.C.C. (Caribbean Conservation Corporation) and to the colorful Tortuguero town.

You will return to the lodge around 5:30 p.m. Free time to enjoy the pool, the bar service and prepare for your dinner. Dinner service from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and then rest of the night free to enjoy the surroundings, pool and bar.

DAY 2: 6:15 am boat tour to admire the awakening of Tortuguero, a wonderful and interesting experience where you can see abundant flora and fauna of Tortuguero National Park . Return for breakfast (service between 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. ).

After breakfast we will begin our trip back to San Jose around 9:00 a.m. The boat will arrive at Caño Blanco around 11:00 a.m. Then our bus will be waiting for the drive back to San Jose . Stop en route for lunch at Selva Tropical Restaurant. Arrive in San Jose area around 3:00 p.m. (depending on the hotel you will be staying).

After visiting Tortuguero you can continue your trip to other destinations instead of coming back to San José . Nearby destinations on the South Caribbean include the beaches of Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, Gandoca- Manzanillo.

Other destinations towards Guápiles area include the rain forests of Sarapiquí and the famous Arenal Volcano area (4 hours drive approximately).

Return to the lodge for lunch and free time for a siesta, enjoy the pool or go for a walk to the beach. Then you have another optional tour to the canals or stay at the lodge to explore the private trails of the lodge, visit the open butterfly garden or simply enjoy the pool. Dinner at the lodge and night at leisure.

DAY 3: After breakfast we will begin our trip back to San Jose around 9:00 a.m. The boat will arrive at Caño Blanco around 11:00 a.m. Then our bus will be waiting for the drive back to San Jose.
